How do I find permalinks?

A permalink (also known as a permanent link) is a link to an online resource. With a webpage, you can just copy the URL in your browser’s address bar and then use it to access that webpage again; however, it is not that straightforward in the library databases.

To find permalinks in the EBSCO databases linked to the Search Everything tab:

  1. Click the title of the article that you're interested in on the search results page.
  2. From the record page, look for the Tools menu on the right-hand side.
  3. Click on the permalink icon in the Tools menu. This will generate a popup box with the permalink above the title of the article.
  4. Select and copy the permalink from the box.

Each major database has different instructions for permalinks, so please refer to the Learn the Library guide for step-by-step instructions for OVID, ProQuest, Science Direct, Wiley, and DOAJ.
